Have you ever thought about packing up, running away, and starting over?
Have the storms of life nearly taken you out for the count, and now you’re trying to figure out where to go from here?
Or, are you in a space where you know you’re on the wrong life road and you need to make some changes in order to get where you need to be?
If you answered yes to any – or all – of these questions, it’s probably time to reinvent yourself.
The most wonderful thing about life is that we all have the power to choose what our next moment will look like by simply making a decision in this moment.
But, where we get stuck is that we tend to overthink, worry about what others will think, and think about all the reasons why we shouldn’t change – All the while, forgetting that to continuing to do the same things over and over again, expecting a different result . . . is INSANITY!
A little over 2 years ago, I had to reinvent myself. I could not continue making the same decisions, choosing the same people, and going to the same places. It was becoming detrimental to my health, my sanity, and my vision.
Reinvention required making the tough decision to sell most of the things that I owned.
Reinvention required me to leave the comforts of home and start my life over in a completely new environment.
Reinvention required me to hit the PAUSE button on life, and do hard reset on my beliefs, my thoughts, and my way of being.
Reinventing myself was the hardest thing I had to do. But it was also the best thing I could have done for myself.
Reinventing myself set me free from past hurts, past failures, gave me a greater sense of freedom, strengthened my resolve, and helped me realize my true power.
So, what steps do you need to take to reinvent yourself?
- Get very clear on who you want to become. You can’t draw a roadmap if you don’t have a destination. So ask yourself: How do I want to be known in the world? How do I want to be seen? How do I want to feel about myself every day? How do I want to experience life? What do I want my contribution to the world to be?
This is what I came up with when I was in the process of reinventing myself: Become the woman that other women look up to and aspire to be in life: confident, courageous, unstoppable, spiritually centered and grounded, driven, brilliant, love, caring, calm – yet a force to be reckoned with like a flood.
- Understand your values. And realign your world to match your values.
- Take one thing at a time. Choose one thing, one area, and focus on that until it becomes a part of your lifestyle.
- Create a new support system for the new you. Your support system is made up of:
A mentor – someone who exudes the energy of the woman you are becoming
Community – a community of women, a mastermind, for the purpose of exchanging ideas, providing support, and encouragement
Friendships – intimate relationships with people whom you care for and who care for you
Counselor/Therapist/Coach - Get to work. Be willing to make sacrifices. Intentionally put yourself in uncomfortable situations. Stretch. Grow. Invest in yourself.
Get started today. No announcement is necessary. Just a decision.
