We often hear of the warning “Beware of the wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
I want to offer you a different warning . . . . beware of the sheep that looks like a sheep but isn’t quite a sheep.
In other words, beware of the people or things that look like what you’ve been praying for, but isn’t quite exactly it. These things come to distract you and cause you to settle exactly where you are instead of going for God’s best.
**You are in a relationship with a man because he is almost what you’ve been praying for . . . but not quite – leaving you feeling dissatisfied and unloved.
**You accepted a job because it was a decent job, but not exactly what you want. Now you’re feeling stressed and overworked.
**You signed a contract that allows you showcase your product or services all over the country – not realizing the sacrifice to your family and health this would require.
These things in and of themselves are not wolves or lions roaming around seeking to kill, steal, or destroy you. But, because you made exceptions to your rules or exceptions to the vision and promises that God gave you, you are now in a situation that you do not desire to be in.
Before you say YES to a person, circumstance, and opportunity that looks like God’s answer to your prayers, be sure to do your due diligence to make sure it’s not a “sheep lookalike.”
