Do What’s Required Of You

Do the work that is required of you to do. Doing the work that is comfortable, easy, or convenient doesn’t produce results. Doing what you want to do or feel like doing doesn’t produce results either. When you decide to do the work that is required of you, when it is required, you will begin to produce results.

Think of a farmer and seed. Cultivating the soil and planting seeds is not fun to do. The farmer doesn’t wake up one morning and have a burning desire to work in the field. He doesn’t want to work from sun up to sun down. And he doesn’t want to work while everyone else is relaxing.

But, the farmer understands that in order to reap a harvest, he must do what’s required of him, when it’s required of him.

He doesn’t wait until he feels like it.

He doesn’t wait until he has nothing else to do.

And he doesn’t wait for the most convenient time.

Instead, he makes a decision to do the work that’s required of him, in the right season.

He is consistent in his efforts. And he is persistent in his efforts despite the changing winds and weather.

As a result, he reaps a bountiful harvest.

Ask yourself: Are you doing what’s required of you to produce the results that you want in your life or in your relationships? Or are you doing what’s easy, comfortable, or only what you feel like doing?
