Stay Inspired

These last two weeks have been super busy and hectic for me. And, at times, I found myself just going through the motion of getting thing done. Although I felt really productive, I didn’t feel accomplished or successful.

Why?

Because I was being led by external requirements and not my inner spirit.

Simply put, I was not feeling inspired or creative.

I don’t have an expectation to be inspired every second of every day. But being able to tap into my inspiration and creativity helps me really feel alive and successful.

When I am inspired and divinely led, I feel like the best version of myself and I am able to do more with more ease.

So, what helps me stay inspired and divinely led?

  1. Rest – If am don’t make time for rest, I cannot hear my spirit speak to me, let alone guide me
  2. Music and Movement – Music and Movement (Dance or Exercise) moves stagnant energy and serves as a stress reliever. Getting lost in music and movement helps me find my inner spark.
  3. Declutter and organization – I have heard it said that your outer state reflects your inner state. It’s hard for me to feel inspired and do good work when my environment is clutter and in disarray. I often have to stop, declutter my desk, clean our drawers, and organize my closet so that my mind and also clean up and be ready to receive.
  4. Add beauty to your environment – Beautiful, vibrant colors inspire me. This can be a painting, flowers, a sculpture, or anything that your eyes can focus on and appreciate beauty and art.
  5. Nature – Looking outside my window when it’s cold or physically going outside when the weather is nice is a great way for me to feel inspired.
  6. Listening – I spend a lot of time in my car. I try to spend no less than half of my car time listening to inspiration audio like books and affirmations. Oftentimes, there will be just one line that really resonates with me and I hold on that inspiration for the rest of the day and allow it to guide me.
  7. Inspirational Friends – Making friends as an adult can be a bit challenging. But if you have at least one friend who maintains a positive attitude and knows how to speak words of affirmation, it could make a world of difference. If you don’t have those kinds of friends, get in the room with inspirational and motivational people as often as you can. This can be church, women’s retreat, or personal development conference. The people you keep in your environment are just as important as the objects you keep in your environment.

What do you do to stay inspired?
