Continuing our previous discussion, here are the next 5 most valuable lessons I have learned about life, love, and faith. . .
6. There is always a ram in the bush. All things are always working out for your good – just not right in front of your face. Just because you can’t see it now, doesn’t mean that a miracle isn’t happening. You’ll have exactly what you need, just when you need it, just how you need it.
7. Be more intentional about making yourself feel good. How you feel about yourself is the energy you put out into the world. What you put out is what you’ll receive back.
**Dress up. Wear your favorite outfit.
**Wear Heels.
**Put on your favorite perfume.
**Eat Chocolate Chip Cookies
**Hug somebody you care about
**Laugh. Watch a video of dogs wearing shoes for the first time (if this doesn’t make you feel good, I don’t know what to tell you. 🙂 )
Feeling good doesn’t always solve problems. But, I would rather feel good in the midst of the storm than to feel miserable while dealing with the storm.
8. The best and funniest piece of advice given to me this year . . . I was sharing with a friend that I didn’t feel like getting out of bed and I wasn’t feeling very motivated to do anything.
With a straight face and full sincerity, she said “What would Jesus do?”
In my mind, I’m thinking “what does Jesus have to do with this?”
(this is why I love doing life with the people in my life today)
She said if Jesus didn’t stay in bed, why should you? The assignment that was on Jesus’ life was far greater than the assignment that you have on your life. Even on the days when he really didn’t “feel like” doing it, he did it anyway – all the way up to being crucified on the cross.
What would Jesus do? Jesus would get up every morning and do what he has to do to fulfill the purpose for his time here on earth. Now, what are you going to do??
9. If at first you don’t succeed, try again. The race isn’t given to the swift. It’s given to the one who endures and never gives up.
The road to love, success, and fulfillment isn’t quick, nor is it always easy. This journey will make you ask the question “How bad do I really want it?”
If you want it bad enough, don’t give up. Pack yourself a first aid kit, clean underwear, and keep moving!!
“Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low enough . . .”
10. Celebrate every chance you get. Celebrate your big wins as well as your small wins. Burn out happens when you don’t hit the pause button and celebrate how far you’ve come, and what you’ve had to get through to be here today.
So, celebrate! Do your happy dance. Toast a glass of wine. Call up a friend and share the good news (testimony).
Keep your energy high and renew your motivation by celebrating as often as you can.
